G&L tech resources: Pickups

EMG is one of the most popular providers of active pickups well as complementing wiring harness. The short-lived L-5500 5-string bass, available between 1993 and 1997, was the first G&L with EMG pickups: a set of Soapbar 40DC humbuckers combined with the BTC System with volume, pan, and concentric treble/bass tone controls. Starting in 2009, the ASAT Deluxe, ASAT Deluxe Semi-Hollow, F-100, Invader XL, and Legacy HB2 could be ordered with optional Active 81 bridge humbucker and Active 85 neck humbucker, a set popularized by Zakk Wylde. EMG pickups were still an option listed in the August 1, 2014 price list but disappeared on the July 1, 2015 price list.
